SImply put - no. All patients and their needs and wishes are discussed on a case-by-case basis and appropriate advice and guidance will be given in a personally tailored fashion. What may be wrong for an 80 year-old may be right for a 35 or 40 year old and vice-versa.

As the patient is the one who ulitmately takes the risks of surgery, they will always be the one in control of the process with guidance from their surgeon.
